Desert Foothills LIbrary at t he heart of our community

Volunteering / Community Service

Did you know that last year (2010) over 60 teens volunteered at the Library?

Are you needing community service hours for school or clubs? Are you new to the area and would like to meet new people or find a way to get involved? Are you looking to give back to our wonderful community? Or are you simply bored and have nothing else to do? Then we are the Library for you!

Did you know that the Desert Foothills Library is a 501 C3 non-profit library? The only non-profit library in the north valley. What does that mean? It means that we do not receive any tax funding from the town, county or state- we are not taxed funded! So much of what we are able to accomplish is because of people like you who want to help.

Most of the Library is staffed by volunteers. We have only a few paid staff members- that is how important you are.

How does it work? First fill out the Teen Volunteer application. Bring it by the Library and I will be in touch. You can also come by the Library and pick an application up at the Circulation Desk.

Volunteering helps us all. If you have any questions please email me, Jaime Hansen the Youth Services Librarian at jhansen@dfla.org
